Position Summary:

Perform preliminary eye exams and tests, including visual acuity, lensometry, and tonometry.

- Assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and document patient medical history and chief complaint.
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT scans, and corneal topography.
- Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records.
- Manage inventory of ophthalmic supplies and order as needed.

Experience:

- Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and procedures.
- Familiarity with medical billing, coding, and insurance verification processes.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems such as Epic or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document patient information.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
