Position Summary:
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of this Christian faith-based nonprofit eye care organization, providing visionary leadership and operational oversight to ensure the mission of offering compassionate, high-quality healthcare to underserved populations is fulfilled. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for strategic planning, fundraising, program development, financial management, community engagement, and staff leadership, all within the framework of the organization’s faith-based principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
●With the Board of Directors, develop and execute the clinic’s long-term strategic plan inalignment with its faith-based mission and values.
●Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish organizational goals and policies.
●Monitor healthcare trends, policies, and community needs to adapt and enhance the clinic’s programs and services.
Program and Operational Management:
●Work with the medical director and clinic administrator to oversee the delivery of clinical services, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and the organization’s mission.
●Implement and monitor performance metrics to evaluate the clinic’s effectiveness and efficiency.
●Ensure the clinic operates within its budget while maintaining a high standard of patient care and staff satisfaction.
Community Engagement and Advocacy:
●Act as the primary spokesperson for the clinic, building relationships with community leaders, faith organizations, and other stakeholders.
●Advocate for healthcare access and equity within the community and with policymakers.
●Promote the clinic’s mission and services through public speaking, media outreach, and events.
Financial Stewardship:
●Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Board and finance team.
●Lead fundraising initiatives, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and community campaigns.
●Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, and other funding sources.
Staff and Volunteer Leadership:
●Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of
collaboration, respect, and spiritual integrity.
●Provide leadership development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
●Conduct regular performance evaluations and address personnel issues as needed.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
●Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
●Significant experience in nonprofit management, healthcare administration, or a related leadership role.
●Proven experience in organizational development, fundraising and donor relations.
Skills and Competencies:
●Strong commitment to the mission, values, and principles of a Christian faith-based organization.
●Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
●Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
●Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
●Familiarity with healthcare policies and regulations is a plus.
Preferred Attributes:
●Active participation in a Christian faith community and alignment with the clinic’s spiritual mission.
●Experience working with underserved populations or in a community health setting.
●Familiarity and experience working within the San Antonio, or South Texas community.
●Bilingual skills are a plus.
Working Conditions:
●Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend commitments.
●Work is conducted primarily in a clinical or office setting, with community outreach and event participation required.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $115,000 - $142,000 plus benefits package to include health insurance, in house vision care, dental stipend, Simple IRA match (after waiting period), and an annual bonus.
